Check out Will on KJACK.org this semester Wednesday’s from 8pm-10pm MST.
The past couple of weeks have had me on top of mountains and living out of my car essentially. On July 27th I head up to Mingus Mountain for Prescott High School’s Marching Band Camp. We had a full staff there and we really got the band going on a good path for the season. I was especially happy with the low brass section which really showed a lot of progress and work ethic throughout the camp. On Thursday the 31st, the last day of camp, I drove to Flag for a masterclass with our new tuba professor Dr. Kent Eshelman. I got to play guinea pig in front of The director of the School of Music, the Director of Bands, Professor Vining, and some of my studio mates. But I am really happy with Dr. Eshelman and excited for this upcoming year. Finally, this past week I was in Flag again for Coconino High School’s Marching Band Camp. It was great to work with Ms. Hamilton and the great group of kids that make up Coconino’s marching band. I really look forward to working with them this year. For now its just two weeks until school starts. Gotta get the train rolling full speed ahead!
Here is the finished version of my cover of Less Than Jake’s “Does the Lion City Still Roar?”

On Monday I leave for Cincinnati and the International Tuba and Euphonium Conference. If you check out the Upcoming Events section, you will see the exact dates I will be gone.
